1959 BMW R69 ‘Velocity Baby’ Sprint & Drag Special

1959 BMW R69 ‘Velocity Baby’ Sprint & Drag Special

This 1959 BMW R69 has undergone a stunning transformation, evolving from a modest 600cc motorcycle with 35bhp into a true masterpiece of engineering and design.

Affectionately named ‘Velocity Baby,’ this exceptional bike has earned an impressive reputation, competing in some of Europe’s most prestigious events, including Montlhéry in France and Glemseck in Germany.

Its acclaim even secured an invitation to The Bike Shed in London, where it was showcased alongside the world’s most celebrated custom builds – a testament to the vision and craftsmanship behind its creation.

Meticulously built over 18 months by Shed Hot Customs in Southampton, with support from some of the UK’s leading engine tuners, ‘Velocity Baby’ now features a 1000cc engine delivering triple the original horsepower. This remarkable transformation elevates it to a new level of performance and prestige.

The attention to detail is nothing short of extraordinary, with every element crafted to perfection. Whether viewed as a competitive race machine or a show-stopping piece of art, Velocity Baby stands out as a truly unique creation.

Accompanying the bike is a comprehensive photographic history documenting its build, as well as copies of prominent publications in which it has been featured.
