Norton Motorcycles, founded in Birmingham, England, in 1898 by James Lansdowne Norton, began as a manufacturer of bicycle parts before transitioning to motorcycles in 1902 with the launch of the ‘Energette’.
The marque quickly gained recognition for its engineering innovation and competitive edge, and to this day Norton remains an enduring symbol of British motorcycling excellence and a celebrated name in racing history.
Over the years, Norton solidified its reputation with legendary models like the ‘Dominator’ and ‘Commando’, renowned for advancements such as the Featherbed frame and Isolastic suspension system.
Such is the history and legacy of this classic marque, Norton secured a win in the twin-cylinder class at the first-ever Isle of Man TT IN 1907.
